Thursday 1st February.
What's good people, what a year 2017 was for us therefore it seems only right to continue from where we left off! Our First instalment of a huge 2018, with more Funk, Disco, and a lot more Funk & Disco.
In February we are joined by London producer and DJ, O'Flynn. He has been hailed by Boiler Room as “one of dance music’s most prosperous newcomers”.
He had a hot 2017, with remixes for FaltyDL and Addison Groove, and his debut release on seminal dance, O’Flynn continues to develop as an exciting new name in the electronic dance music scene.
Support as always perfectly delivered by our residents, Eben Rees & Brynn Salter.
Tickets for our last 3 events have sold out a month in advance, therefore we urge you not to wait around (as we do every time).
See you all there for a lovely time!

Electronic J-rock & progressive metal band Esprit D'Air perform their new album Constellations back-to-back on their biggest headline tour yet. Live at Buffalo Bar Cardiff on 6th Feb 2018.
The J-rockers’ critically-acclaimed debut album, Constellations, premiered on TeamRock (Metal Hammer, Classic Rock Magazine), which saw their lead single, ‘Guiding Light’ listed on TeamRock’s best rock songs of 2017.
Since their reformation in 2016, Esprit D’Air has been going strength-to-strength from performing at the UK’s largest Japanese culture festival HYPER JAPAN, to selling out a headline show at O2 Academy2 Islington, and supporting the likes of Canada’s darkwave band The Birthday Massacre.
Advanced tickets £8.80, or £12 on the door:
Support 1: Tokyo Taboo
The duo comprise of singer Dolly Daggerz and guitarist Mike, who are joined by a band for their live shows. Dolly takes inspiration from iconic performers from Heart to David Bowie and Karen O and Mike simply loves a good riff. Tokyo Taboo is a perfect amalgamation of Dolly and Mike’s influences; inspired by Manga, Japanese culture, drag and 80s fashion, they are true performers, with an image that equals the intense vibrancy of what you hear on record.
Support 2: Stereo Juggernaut
Electrorockers Stereo Juggernaut have landed with a high-octane sound from the future. Securing shows and tours with The Birthday Massacre, The Red Paintings, Orgy, Combichrist, Crazy Town, Girugamesh, Aesthetic Perfection, and Mushroomhead, the London-spawned band are mesmerising crowds with their dark & romantic industrial alt-rock & roll. Gritty yet graceful, their live show is full of melancholic menace, with singer Ben Main’s violently schizophrenic vocal style breathing fresh air to a stagnant scene.

The name Foreign Concept has come to represent both a DJ’ing distinction and a multiform production style that synthesises the sounds of yesterday and tomorrow in chord with the Critical Music ethos.
The London born, but now Bristol dwelling talent took to the turntables in 2004, and whilst bringing to the fore a future-thinking genre inclusivity that makes his DJ sets uniquely hard to miss, Foreign Concept was quickly noted for his finesse for infectious blends of which lead to an international DJ schedule as a club and festival favourite.
In 2011, after forging a distinct sound of his own, the young producer galvanised the scene with signings to Shogun Audio and Commercial Suicide amongst others, before catching the attention of drum and bass visionary, Kasra, with the dank dystopian half-time hitter ‘Mob Justice’ and was immediately signed exclusively to his label, Critical Music.
The eclectic producer has consistently experimented in his music with a devout focus on the quality of his repertoire. After a series of ground-breaking releases on Critical Music, including his “Make Meals EP” , the title track of which Beatport placed in their top ten releases of the year, he is set to unleash his latest musical masterpiece - “Skit City EP', which drops in April 2017.
With a packed DJ schedule that includes worldwide tours and major festivals, Foreign Concept has truly cemented himself at the top of the Drum and Bass genre.
Klax emerged from the thriving Brighton drum and bass scene in 2014. The trio quickly gained prominence with a debut DnB release on Renegade Hardware called ‘Vendetta’. This forward thinking track caught the ears of several taste-makers in the scene, including Foreign Concept who enlisted them for a collab on his next EP on Critical. The fruit of this joint effort, ‘Ask Yourself’, quickly garnered huge support and was much applauded for it’s musicality and boundary pushing sentiment. Following this, the trio delivered a three tracker for Critical’s digital offshoot Binary, the lead track of which shot to the top 3 in Beatports DnB charts.
Spurred on by this success Klax got in the studio and turned out another EP, this time for Critical:Systems; earning a vinyl release and gaining support from the furthest reaches of the DnB world including early support from Sub Focus and Friction.
Aside from their genre bending remixes of Culprate and Emperor, 2017 has seen the guys first release on Critical proper with the 'Rekanize' EP, a diverse 5 tracker that runs the full gamut of DnB. From the sublime liquid of 'The Sway', footwork meets jungle of 'Risk It' through gritty halftime stepper 'Rekanize', and neuro-rave in 'Fluoro Riddim', the trio have really made a compelling statement of intent.

Hailed by the Metal Hammer magazine as “one of the UK's most idiosyncratic rock bands”, Godsticks are a progressive heavy rock band from South Wales. They released their fourth album ‘Faced With Rage’ via the Kscope label in October, which was described by Prog Magazine as “a winning blend of channelled aggression and emotional depth, combining lyrical intelligence and instrumental fireworks”.
Having toured extensively throughout Europe with The Aristocrats, Mike Keneally and The Pineapple Thief, Godsticks will be showcasing their explosive new material at this headline show.
